small battle

sometimes you need to focus on the small battles first. like peeling off your duvet in the morning and getting out of bed. like unwrapping the tangled mess of your hair (i always lazy to do this), picking up the brush and getting rid of one knot at a time. like going to the grocery store to grab not just ice cream but fruits. like making something good for your dinner. like switching the light off and letting the candle flame flicker soft radiance into the room. like putting your clothes in the laundry and getting in shower without crying as the water streams down your cheeks. sometimes you need to ignore other people's progress and focus on your own baby steps. like keep on applying job even nobody calls you for the interview. like smiling at the reflection in the mirror and getting dressed for your confident, even you are not going to step out. like stepping out anyway to take a walk, to get some fresh air, to browse around the condo and see buildings. like letting yourself mould back into your own life. but as a new person with a new perspective. its ok to be late. it's not about jumping head-first into your journey. it's about the tiny things that you do each day that bring you closer to feeling warm again. it's not about getting over things instantly or waking up one morning and feeling miraculously healed. it's about moving forward, step by step, as gently as you can. it's about small battles.
